6 must-know suppliers to complement your India Plus Oner Strategy Softtek's presentation at the Forrester Sourcing and Vendor Management Forum last week went off without a hitch.  If you missed the forum, you can watch a brief video from Softtek's Chief Globalization Officer Beni Lopez below.  During the live presentation (Fulfilling the India-Plus-One Strategy) Novell’s Director of Quality Assurance, Neal Beckstrand, joined us and spoke about why Novell has looked outside of India and toward nearshore and Mexico in order to strengthen its outsourcing model. Check out Beni’s recap:

Speaking of successful nearshore stories, check out this one, published yesterday by Inc. Magazine: How I Launched in Mexico—In Just Three Weeks.  The article discusses how entrepreneur Cliff Schertz moved resources from India to Mexico to start Tiempo Development—a software development company that has seen a 975% growth for the last three years. Editor Issie Lapowsky summarizes Schertz's previous lessons learned in a way that speaks true to many global firms: "It [India] worked well in theory, but the past few years had revealed that the logistics of crossing an ocean to build products for clients was not easy."

Of course, India has proven its capability as the leading destination for  global outsourcing services.  However, Client Needs and Market Trends Are Leaning in a Good Direction for Nearshore IT Providers. As companies face rising demands to diversify geographic portfolios, to evaluate the total cost of engagement, and to entrust tasks to knowledge workers,  fulfilling the 'India-plus-one' model becomes a strategy and an enabler for today's thriving businesses.

For more about the presentation, to view the nearshore assessment matrix, or to find out more about Softtek’s work with Fortune 1000, 500 and 50 companies, please contact info.usa@softtek.com.
